Meli Wraps are reusable beeswax wraps, a sustainable alternative to single use food wraps, including plastic wrap, plastic bags, and aluminum foil. Meli Wraps are made with certified organic cotton, Hawaiian beeswax, tree resin, jojoba oil and coconut oil. There are no harsh chemicals. These are products you can feel good about using, and together create a wrap that is naturally antibacterial.

Here’s how they work:
You can purchase Meli Wraps in one of 3 sizes, small (7”x7”), medium (10” by 10”) or large (10”x16”). You can also purchase Meli Wraps in bulk rolls, which can be cut to be any size you need. The rolls are reasonably priced, and you get a lot of wrap. Each roll is 13.5” wide and 42” long! The roll is easy to cut with regular scissors.

Meli Wraps come in lots of fun patterns and colors. We tried the Meli Wrap Beeswax Bulk Roll in the pattern “Shells Print”. The roll arrived in all eco-friendly packaging which we love. Some other beeswax wraps can be very expensive. The roll is a more cost-effective option and the possible uses are endless.

We found that Meli Wraps are actually very easy to get into the habit of using. They are just as convenient and effective as environmentally unfriendly options. They are pliable, and easy to shape to whatever you need covered. We found that with Meli Wraps, it was very easy to get a tight seal on most containers. And seriously, we use this for just about everything

Meli Wraps also features videos on their website on how to construct and fold the wraps in more efficient ways, such as into a snack pack. You can either follow a tutorial, or just bend the fabric to fit your object. All you need to do is use the warmth of your hands to form the wrap around food items.

And Meli Wraps are super easy to clean! When you are ready to clean your Meli Wrap, rinse the wrap under cool water, and use your hands or a sponge and mild detergent to wipe clean. When you are done, air dry your wrap and you are ready to reuse. With the proper care, your Meli Wraps can be reused for about a year.

As much as we here at This Kind Planet love using our Meli Wraps, there were a few drawbacks to using beeswax wraps in general (none of these are specific to Meli Wrap themselves). You cannot use these wraps on meats. Because of the nature of beeswax wraps, you do not want to use these to store raw meats for food safety reasons.

Avoid using the wraps on very hot food items, and only wash under cool water. Because of the nature of beeswax, if exposed to heat, it will melt. For the same reason, you should never microwave your Meli Wrap, or put it through the dishwasher.

Overall, we really enjoy using Meli Wraps. We find them easy to use, and clean. The bulk roll is perfect for any shape dish or object. Meli Wraps are This Kind Planet approved!
