It’s important to know that the vast majority of plastic is never recycled. Recycling of single-use plastic is an exaggeration spread by packaging and food manufacturers to distract us from the mounting waste of their profit driven decisions. That overstatement shifts the cost and responsibility of this waste to citizens and municipalities. Approaching your consumption mindfully and intentionally will reduce your personal contribution to single-use plastic waste. There are countless resources with tips and guides to help you reduce single-use plastic in your life. The most impactful thing you can do is support and vote for environmental politicians and policies.
